Rafting Nepal is one of the best ways to leave behind the stress of everyday life by simply immersing in the beauty and power of one of the country’s many rivers. Camping on the remote and beautiful riverside, catching glimpses of the local culture as you paddle by, the journey will offer time for reflection as well as the thrill of taming (or not) some of the world’s best tides, gravity powered and gut-wrenching rapids.
Rafting Nepal can be a choice of single day trips or extended expeditions; all trips, whether rafting or kayaking, are fully supported and equipped to the last detail. Professional guides, on-river tuition, safety kayakers and state of the art equipment make challenging rivers possible to ride, even with little or no previous rafting or kayaking experience. All you need to bring is a sense of adventure, a positive attitude and some extra underpants!
The best times for rafting and kayaking in Nepal are from September to early December, and March to early June. Rafting during the summer is difficult as many of the country’s rivers become un-navigable due to the increased volume of water from the monsoon runoff, and the winter season offers short, cold days and nights. Nepal is one of the best places for learning basic wilderness survival abilities. Most of the locals still rely on traditional skills and trades for their daily existence. We offer a basic jungle survival course during our rafting trips. This is one of the best ways to learn on-the-spot techniques from both the locals and our instructors. Trips longer than two days are ideally suited for this purpose.
